About Doosan Bears

  • The Doosan Bears (Korean: 두산 베어스) are a professional baseball team based in Seoul, South Korea. They are a member of the KBO League.
  • Won six Korean Series titles (1982, 1995, 2001, 2015, 2016, and 2019)
  • Home field is Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium, sharing the stadium with their rivals, the LG Twins.
  • The club was founded in Daejeon in 1982 as the "OB Bears", with the Oriental Brewery as their owners, and moved to Seoul in 1985 before being officially renamed the "Doosan Bears", after the brewery was sold to InBev, and the Doosan Group assuming ownership in 1999.
  • In 2006, Dusan recorded the biggest crowded in KBO history in attendance during the whole season.
  • Dusan recorded exceeded a million in attendance 10 years in a row in KBO history as well as Korean pro-sports history. ​

David Nilsson

  • The former Milwaukee Brewers catcher lead a spirited effort  at the 2019 Premier 12 tournament, which doubled as the first chance for 2020 Olympic qualification. His team progressed to the second round and narrowly missed the super round and immediate Olympic qualification.
  • Nilsson returned to the national team staff as an assistant coach for the 2018 Japan Series after winning three consecutive Australian Baseball League titles with the Brisbane Bandits, who went 86-48 while winning ABL titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018 (Winning again in 2019).
  • The 48-year-old Nilsson said: "It was really special to get back to international competition, I love the environment and I really missed it."
  • Regarded as Australia's best-ever MLB player, Nilsson finished his MLB career with a .284 batting average, 105 home runs and 470 runs batted in.
  • He created history in 1999 when he became the first Australian to be named an MLB All-Star after finishing with a .309 batting average in 115 games for the Brewers.
  • Player on Australia's Olympic team in 2000 and 2004, when it won silver at the Athens Games.
  • Inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2008
